Mila Kunis New Movies nominees in Golden Globe: Mila Kunis has come a long way from her days as the snobby, popular princess on the hit show “That 70’s Show”. Now nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the film “Black Swan” with Natalie Portman, Kunis seems to be branching outside her comedic background to more dramatic roles.
“Black Swan” has been making a lot of headlines not only for its four Golden Globe Nominations (Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress), but also for the controversial lesbian sex scene between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.
Portman seems to believe the main reason for the controversy is her participation. “Lesbian scenes, sex scenes, they’re all over the place,” Portman told Vogue. “But because it’s me, people are shocked. I see the value of a good-girl persona — it’s so easy to subvert it!”
Kunis opened up about her thoughts on the sex scene also. “We knew it was going to attract attention. We were just hoping that people would walk away after seeing the movie not just isolating in their memory that scene when we have sex. I think it’s important to the story.”
Kunis has been working on the show “Family Guy” for the past few years and only appeared in a few films, including the comedy “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”. Now that she has broken back into the films, Mila is going hard. She just released she will be joining the cast of the upcoming film “Ted”, joining “Family Guy” director, Seth MacFarlane. Also on the casting list is Mark Wahlberg, who starred with Kunis in “Max Payne” and Adam Scott, best known for his roles in “Stepbrothers” and “Leap Year”. Looks like she isn’t straying too far from comedy.
“Ted” is a story about a little boy whose childhood wish comes true when his teddy bear comes to life. When the boy is all grown up, the bossy, irresponsible bear continues to live and teaches him how to “grow up”. Mark Wahlberg is set to play the lead with Mila Kunis as his girlfriend.
